Enough of the Arroyo Administration!

We, Filipinos, are so unlucky here in the Philippines considering the problems the country faces, thanks to the maneuverings of a fake president. Despite all the scandals and allegations of graft and corruption, ate glue truly lives up to her name: glued to her position; however almost all the Pinoys dislike her. We should not really allow GMA to extend her term beyond 2010 through constitutional means.

There have been so many scandals and anomalies of the government including GMA and her tutas... plus GMA's husband, Mike Arroyo. Let me enumrate some of it for you (not in order):

  • The Broadlight bribery of governors and congressmen right inside Malacanang.
  • The NBN-ZTE Deal.
  • Fertilizer Fund Scam.
  • Hello Garci Scandal.
  • Extra-judicial killings.
  • Graft and Corruption.
  • ETC.

If she doesn't come clean out of this mess, tingnan lang natin kung saan pupulutin si ate glue. Yet another controversy of scandalous proportions is the brewing 5 billion peso pig scam, which the Bolante fertilizer scam pales in comparison. It boggles the mind!

I really insist that it should be not a day longer for a president who lies, cheats, and is above all graft and corruption in government, extrajudicial killings, and all irreguralities imaginable. What moral lesson do we, young pinoys, learn from a morally corrupt GMA? Hindi nahihiya si GMA sa ating mga pinoy, gusto ba natin na ito ay maging norm ng dapat ay ipagsalin-saling Philippine value system from this generation to the next, ad infinitum?

There are over 80 million Filipinos and definitely, there are a greater number who are very qualified for the position. It's not a matter of who is going to take over, it's all about an alternative that is as constitutional as succession. Noli may be perceived as a no-brainer, and i swear never have liking for him for all his intellectual deficiency, but then he sure is the only legitimate successor.

He is certainly an intellectual misfit but as I said, he is the constitutional successor. And if he proves not up to the job, then let's change him. Definitely, changing president is a painful process but that's the way a MATURING DEMOCRACY undergoes. NO PAIN, NO GAIN.

Alam niyo kasi, talagang ang legal approach ay malinaw na malinaw, and it's a choice we've got to make: there's the impeachment (although as usual it's a numbers game with the crocodiles in congress outnumbering the decent ones), snap elections (we've certainly don't lack of the likes of Chief Justice Puno et al. to be at the helm of a caretaker government until an honest election is held to elect a GMA successor; certainly I have doubts with the Comelec but hope springs eternal), there's resignation as an option now getting clearer by the day, People Power Revolt. These are options that we have to pursue as the youth who are poised to inherit whatever succeeding governments leave us.

I stand flat on my views that all the controversies that hound GMA are of her own doing and that you could only infer that corruption, the shenanigans in her government, the lies, the deception, scam after scam all lead to the Malacanang door. I cringe at the thought of another 2 years of GMA. It gives me the shivers living a long 2-year moral bankruptcy that GMA is simply guilty of: bakit natin hahayaang maging isa tayong bansa at pamayanan na hindi kinahihiyaan ng dahil lamang sa isang uri ng katakawan, kawalang kahihiyaan, etc.?

I pray then that we are emancipated from the morally bankrupt GMA government.

Thank you for your time.

POSSIBLE EXPLANATIONS: Friendster's Bug

Okay, as a soon-to-be Moderator of Friendster Forums, narito ang mga "maaaring" explanations regarding errors sa Friends niyo.

Kung mayroon pa kayong mga tanong, you are all free to message me or leave a comment here.

Kasarapan ng pagiging Senador (sa Pilipinas)

(This was just forwarded to me by mail. I find it interesting so I'm posting it.

Miriam Defensor Santiago was featured in The Correspondents last week.

There's food for everybody 'ika nga!

PLEASE FORWARD TO AS MANY OF YOUR FRIENDS AND LET THE WHOLE COUNTRY KNOW THAT ELECTION IS MORE OF PUTTING AMBITIOUS PEOPLE IN POSITION WHO ARE GREEDY IN POWER, WEALTH & PRESTIGE THAN OF PUBLIC SERVICE...
ANG MASAKIT PA (TIYA DELY o KUYA CESAR) PERA NG BAYAN PA RIN ANG GAGAMITIN SA ELEKSYON MALUKLOK LANG ANG MGA BUWAYA SA PWESTO!!!

Google Chrome - is the newest browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier.

The truth is, I haven't had a chance to check out this new browser from Google. But don't worry, I have these trusted friends who have tried it. In terms of comments and reviews, Google's Chrome is good, as a new and 1.0 product.

Ely Buendia - Now stable after reunion concert

Doctors have said that band vocalist and Filipino music icon Ely Buendia on Sunday is in stable condition following the medical emergency that saw him being rushed to hospital Saturday night at the height of the reunion concert of his former band, the Eraserheads. In a message to

ABS-CBN News, record label Sony BMG said Buendia is now "stable" after suffering hypokalemia Saturday night, 15 songs into the band's one-night-only reunion concert at the Fort Bonifacio Open Field.

Hypokalemia is a medical condition in which the concentration of potassium in the blood is low. It is brought about by a variety of reasons, including effects from medications and diet patterns.

Buendia has been administered with a potassium intravenous fluid and is now recuperating at the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City. Sony BMG said the administration of the IV hurt him a bit but was tolerable.

Day Cabuhat, manager of Buendia's current band Pupil, also told ABS-CBN News that he is already doing fine and is resting.

"Ely is doing fine, he is resting now. We just want to let the people know that his condition is stable but he's still under observation. We want to thank the fans and everyone for their concern, support and prayers," Cabuhat said.

Buendia experienced chest pains and reportedly collapsed backstage after the first set of the long-awaited reunion concert.

He was transferred to the Heart Center around 1 a.m. Sunday after being treated at the Makati Medical Center's emergency room.

The singer was brought out of the Makati hospital on a stretcher. Buendia's family has declined to comment on his condition.

Fans, friends, react

Meanwhile, Buendia's friend, filmmaker Joyce Bernal, denied that the singer suffered a heart attack. She said Buendia suffered chest pains due to the stress brought about by his mother's recent death and exhaustion due to the rehearsals for the concert.

Buendia's mother died of cardiac arrest early morning of August 28. She had been recovering from surgery done just days before to treat her intestinal cancer.

MTV Philippines head Francis Lumen, who co-produced the concert, said that Buendia is resting to recover from stress and exhaustion.

Buendia's family is requesting the media to refrain from interviews and shooting video of the singer.

Bandmembers and Buendia's sister informed the crowd about what happened to the singer, and announced at the concert that the Eraserheads' frontman "is in a lot of physical and emotional stress lately."

Despite his mother's death on August 28, the former Eraserheads vocalist decided to push through with the concert, anyway.

A witness at the Makati Medical Center emergency room earlier told abs-cbnNEWS.com that Buendia appeared unconscious and was taken to the critical care area late Saturday night.

The witness said several doctors rushed to Buendia and a minor commotion ensued. The witness also said that the news going around the ER was that the singer had a heart attack.

Health, concert problems

Buendia had a previous heart attack in January 2007. He underwent two angioplasty procedures (a surgical operation where narrowed or blocked arteries are widened) at the Philippine Heart Center after doctors found at least two blockages in his arteries.

Doctors said the singer has a history of heart disease in his family and was genetically predisposed to it.

The Eraserheads reunion concert became controversial after its first sponsor, cigarette-maker Philip Morris, was accused of violating Philippine laws prohibiting tobacco companies from sponsoring concerts and other promotional events.

When Philip Morris pulled out of the production due to legal concerns, it was Lumen who took over the sponsorship of the show.

Eraserheads member Raimund Marasigan said Buendia still pushed through in participating in their reunion concert even with the stress he had gone through lately.

Marasigan, along with fellow Eraserheads members Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro, are still hoping they would all get together onstage soon and perform as the Eraserheads one more time.

The Eraserheads, formed in the late 1980s, was the most successful Filipino band of the 1990s, and is widely credited for reviving the Filipino band scene.

Gabe Norwood - Top rookie in PBA Draft

Rain or Shine (Formerly known as Welcoat Dragons), selected highly-touted Filipino-American Gabe Norwood as the no. 1 overall pick in Sunday's 2008 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Annual Rookie Draft at the Market! Market! Activity Center in Taguig City.

I remember Gabe Norwood played for our National Team during the FIBA Asia tournament in Japan last year.

"As far as I am concerned, I will surely help the team get wins. I'm excited, and the most that I can give for the team is my work ethic," Norwood said, minutes after joining the Welcoat franchise.

Damn. How I wish Norwood joining Sta. Lucia Realtors with Kelly Williams. If that would have happened, it would have been all exhibition dunks for Sta. Lucia. Hehehe.
